What's the most positive thing that religion offer?

Posted on Aug 29th, 2007 by Galynne : Take What You Need Galynne
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for August 29, 2007:

Baha'i Faith - Independent Investigation of Truth. One of the faith's primary principle. To search for what is right and true in your own heart. I am not a 'member' of any religious organization - and that makes me very happy. I consider myself belonging to NO religion and ALL religion at the same time. The "take what you need" philosophy has helped me take the best of the best all religious principles. I do, however, live my life closest to the Baha'i principles: Baha'is Believe In: the oneness of humanity the equality of men and women the elimination of prejudice the elimination of extremes of wealth and poverty the independent investigation of truth universal education religious tolerance the harmony of science and religion a world commonwealth of nations a universal auxiliary language

Wow, that is really neat. I have been looking into UUism hoping to find the same sorts of ideas, maybe I will look more into Baha'i now. Thanks.

I have never been much of a “belonger” to any kind of structured faith-based organization… choosing instead to chart my own course, based on what “feels right and compassionate.”

What you write here sounds remarkably similar to the “place” I find myself, after all these years.

Thanks for sharing this!
